CRAFTING BASICS

Each crafting station offers the same sections:

  • REFINE - raw materials have to be refined first to use them, you have a chance to randomly gain improving materials from refining

  • CREATION - you will be able to craft within the learned traits and styles only, but you shouldn't really bother about crafting any gear before you reached lvl 50 / CP160 on you rmaster crafter

  • DECONSTRUCT - every item that you don't equip on your character can be used to gain crafting inspiration by deconstructing, you get different materials back from it based on the value of the item

  • IMPROVE - gear-wise ONLY improve bonus gear sets after deciding which one you want to use, NEVER upgrade random dropped items that's a waste of upgrading materials, same as for crafting, you shouldn't bother about improving any gear before you are lvl50 / CP160

  • RESEARCH - researching an item with a special traits unlocks this trait for you to craft, but only for this item, you have to research each trait for each item separate, the needed time to research an item increases extremely (6 hours to 64 days) but you can reduce the timer and increase the amount of researched items with skill points, research scrolls to decrease the timer can be bought with writ vouchers currency or crowns too

  • FURNITURE - every crafting offers different furniture recipes to learn and craft, the materials can be farmed or bought and some of them are usually quite expensive, the recipes for furniture crafting usually drop from furniture's like wardrobes, desks, night shelves, urns etc but from dungeons, quests or enemies too

Traits -  every armor, weapon or jewelry has a special trait than can be learned by researching a  piece with this trait, recommended traits to learn first are training, divine, infused and reinforced

styles - the way your crafted armor will look is based on the styles, every race knows its own style already, many others can be learned by basic motifs, but there exist a lot of epic and even some legendary motifs to learn too

motifs - they might drop from quests, farming furniture like wardrobes/desks/urns, fishing, psijic portals, dungeons or can be bought at guild traders, using the motif makes you learn this crafting style

Leveling each crafting to level 50 can be time consuming and costs a lot of materials and even a lot of skill points but following our guides will make it easier

reaching level 10 opens the possibility to do the daily crafting writs, starting area for crafting writs is Davon's Watch, only for jewelry it is Alinor.

Start the quest-lines from the daily craft boards:

4 Equipment Crafts - Clothing, Blacksmithing, Woodworking and Jewelry

3 Consumable Crafts - Alchemy, Enchanting, Provisioning

You can find them in bigger cities like Davons Watch as example, the quest-line will lead you to each of the 6 crafting stations: clothing, blacksmithing, woodworking, enchanting, provisioning, alchemy and you will learn how to use each station, how to craft and deconstruct

To learn the new jewelry crafting it is required to have Summerset chapter, you will find the NPC outside the crafting area in Alinor

Once done with all quests, you can pick everyday so called daily writs from those boards and do one for each crafting, so 7 writs totally, you get gold, xp, level your craft and get valuable material boxes for turning them in, sometimes even master-writs and surveys

for higher level crafting and specific items check online guides

Beginners TIP: create right away a separate character as your master crafter, one that you wont use as main play character, this way it is a lot easier to obtain all the needed skill points

preferably an ORC cause they receive an inherent 10% crafting inspiration boost

golden crafting rule: if you want to get into crafting, then start as soon as possible, esp with research, check your timers everyday and always have items on all research slots, and upgrade the skill lines for faster research asap

ESO plus give 10% inspiration boost and if you can already use CP for your character, then put 30 points into The Tower for 20% passive inspiration boost
