How do factions work in regards to Cyrodiil PVP?

  • Cyrodiil is split into 3 factions. It is not Server vs Server, World vs World, it is Faction VS Faction VS Faction. It is a 3 way showdown to take over the map and capture everything in sight and kill anyone that comes in your way.

       Standard Map of Cyrodiil

  • This image indicates what Factions have control over specific regions in Cyrodiil. Cyrodiil is one big PVP Map, and it looks evenly divided up in this picture here, but that's not always the case.

Connected Towers

      Teleporting between Towers / Posts

  • Anything connected via a Colored line of your faction, can be teleported to as long as they are not under attack with a gold star around the tower / post. This usually happens when it is being captured by another faction and the wall is at 50%. In this photo here (Red) can't teleport to blue's side because that's their territory and we do not own it, hence we can't teleport there and if you die you'd have to re-spawn to nearest tower and run back to your location. You also need to capture 1 of the surrounding material farm location around the tower to be able to teleport in and out of it, capturing the tower alone will not allow you to teleport.

      Towers / Posts Under Attack

  • When you see this orange star surrounding your Faction's tower or enemy faction's tower, that means it is being attacked by another faction, and you can either defend it or attack it as well. This happens when either the outer wall or inner wall is at 50% health or below. When people see the orange star it lures them to that location, which is a great strategy to create diversions, etc.

      Different Campaign Modes

  • There are 4 different kinds of Cyrodiil Campaign modes you can join

  • Below level 50 is self explanatory, it's for low levels.

  • 7 Day Standard anyone can join and participate, owning native objectives give you double points.

  • 30 Day Standard is more populated and one of the most famous one. Your CP Level (Champion Points) matter in this mode and can greatly impact the outcome in combat.

  • 30 Day Non - Champ is another famous one. It's population is pretty good and your CP Level (Champion Points) has no effect in this mode. Your overall Gear and Skill ( As in how good you play your class ) is a important aspect in this mode.

Population Indicator

       Population & Availability

  • On the right hand side of the selected Campaign you can see the population of the Factions currently inside. Yellow and Blue have a locked icon, which symbolizes that the Faction player limit is FULL and you will have to join the Que / Waiting List, in order to participate. The Red Faction has 3 bars which indicates it is also highly populated but hasn't reached the MAX Player Limit yet.

Buying Siege For Cyrodiil

      Buying Siege

  • Siege merchants can be found in safe locations and inside towers and siege that your faction owns.

  • You can buy Catapults, Ballistas, Trebuchets, Oils & Rams.

  • You can buy repair kits for walls as well.

  • Siege can be bought with alliance points which you gain by being active in Cyrodiil, or with gold.

Using shrine to travel

      Transitus Shrine

  • In Cyrodiil you have to use these Transitus Shrines to travel across the map. You can't use the standard (White Shrine) you see in open world maps. You must use this Blue Transitus Shrine to travel to nearby / far towers that your faction owns.

  • Long as the green lines are connected to the tower you wish to go to, you can travel there instantly via this shrine.
