HOMESTEAD
Housing and Furnishing in ESO

Basics
ESO is one of the few MMO where you can REALLY own a house and live in it, you can craft or buy thousands of furniture's, move it around and make your house and garden unique and exactly the way you like it
-
Houses are account wide for all characters
-
You can own multiple houses
-
You can invite single players or even whole guilds, but the amount of players inside of the house a the same time is limited, based on the house category
-
You can choose visitor or decorator options individually
-
ESO plus doubles the amount of items you can place in your home
-
Deuling is allowed in homes, but not in apartments or inn-rooms
-
Pets, assistants and mounts can't be summoned inside homes but can be placed as decorations, assistants can even be accessed then

How to get a house?
ESO offers a few small housings which actually are just single rooms for free with the Homestead tutorial quest, usually its a small room or apartment in a local Inn
those are all over the maps in different cities and each of your characters can gain access to a different one for free and it will be added to your collected houses

on top of that, you can buy a huge variety of houses, either with gold or crowns, unfurnished or even fully furnished, styled in the different race or guild styles of the game
some special houses can only be bought from the crown store

There exist 3 categories of houses
-
staple homes - usually small one room houses
-
classic homes - few rooms, little yards sometimes
-
notable homes and estates - huge manor houses with lots of space

Difference between them is the size and/or the space around the house, the amount of furnishing items you can use to decorate them and the price

Preview a house
This is an awesome function to really walk with your character through every house that you wanna see, easiest way is to go to the crown store, choose the house that you wanna visit from the housing section and press Preview
you will be teleported into the house and with F5 you can choose, if you want to see it furnished or unfurnished and it will show you the costs (gold/crowns)
Previewing houses doesn't make it easier to decide which one to buy though, cause there are so many beautiful ones :)
once you bought one, you can access it directly from your collection tab of collected houses or even keybind a teleport to your house in settings

Housing Editor
The housing editor allows you to browse through your furniture storage, directly buy all kinds of furniture from crown store or retrieve placed items near you (which is very helpful in case they are bugged or stuck in a wall sometimes)
A usable item has always to be placed correctly, if it would not be accessible where you placed it, then it glows red, if it is placed good, it glows green

Housing items/Furniture
-
You can craft items once you learned the recipe and got the needed materials, every crafting profession offers different housing items to craft
-
Buy from guild traders
-
Special NPC's like the luxury vendor, Home Goods Furnisher in big cities or Achievement Furnisher who will sell you special items after you got the achievement for it
-
Buy from Writs Merchants for writs currency, you can even buy usable crafting stations, special items and training dummies there
-
You can buy nearly everything directly from the crown store via the Housing Editor
-
Many objects to interact with: lights can be turned on and off, you can sit on chairs, lay down in beds etc
-
You can get special items from achievements like undaunted busts from final bosses in vet dungeons, trials and arenas

LUXURY VENDOR
The luxury vendor appears every weekend in Couldharbour's main city and offers special items which you cant get from any NPC throughout the year
if you don't buy it when it's on offer, then you still might have to buy this item later from the guild traders, but usually for a much higher price

Guild Traders
It's highly recommended to compare trader prices before you buy furniture there, if you re a good farmer and crafter, then you can make a lot of gold too by selling furniture crafting materials or furniture
