ESO BEGINNERS GUIDE
CHARACTER CREATION
Before you start creating a character, you need to know, that you CANT CHANGE your CLASS or ALLIANCE afterwards. It is possible to change race, name and appearance if you pay for it, but not class or alliance. Your CLASS is not that important, since you can always make a different one and work on several characters at the same time, try different play styles etc. You can create up to 8 characters for free.
ALLIANCE is an important aspect in case you wanna join us in Alliance war later for Cyrodiil PVP. Then make sure you choose one of the EBONHEART Pact (EP) races to start with: Argonian, Dark Elf or Nord cause that's what we play as guild PVP.
In case your character is already in another alliance than EP when you join our guild, then you're still welcome to join us for PvE content, and you can always create another character on Ebonheart too if you want to join in our PvP events :)
Beginners Tip: If you prefer to play any other race, then it's highly recommended to get the ANY RACE, ANY ALLIANCE CROWN PACK from the gem store before creating any characters. This item has to be only bought once for the whole account and allows you to create ANY race in ANY faction right away, means all races are open to be played in all alliances then.

GENERAL SETTINGS
Press ESC and check out the settings for video, sound, gameplay etc.
In the social section you can setup different chat colors for each guild that you joined, and since you can have up to 5 guilds in ESO it helps a lot to give each one a separate chat color to keep a better overview who talks where
Keybind everything to your personal comfort, with LUI Addon you can even keybind your merchant, fence, and banker so you can instantly spawn them by your side. If you own a house in ESO you can keybind it so it teleports you to your Primary home as well.

Important standard keybinds and chat commands:
-
(C) - shows your character information
-
(G) - opens the guild menu
-
(i) - shows your gear setup
-
(M) - opens the map
-
(Enter) - access the chat window
-
/p - talk in your group/team
-
/g1 - talk in guild1 (same for /g2, /g3...)
-
/say - talk with people close to you
-
/zone - talk on a whole map

ADDONS
Before you start playing it is highly recommended to install Minion and download some of the essential Addons for ESO that can make your gameplay so much easier and smoother
for details check out our -> ADDON GUIDE

WAYSHRINES
To move faster in ESO, those wayshrines are all over the maps in all areas, you can teleport from wayshrine to wayshrine for free all over Tamriel. But you have to once activate each of them first to be able to use them. You can do this either by running by while questing or if you travel to a player who is at an unknown wayshrine.
You can even teleport to a known wayshrine from anywhere on the map, but that costs gold.
Smarter way is to use the option TRAVEL TO PLAYER.
Beginners Tip: in the first days you should always check your guildlist where the other guildies are and travel to everyone. This way you get a lot of wayshrines activated in maps where you havnt been yet and this gives you a starting point for each area.
Nice side-effect: discovering wayshrines gives XP, if you do it as lowlevel, you easily gain a few level just by wayshrine hopping with travel to players!

STABLE/MOUNT
At the stable you can buy a horse if you don't already have one from ESO plus or any game package, you can even be lucky and get one from the free crown crates that are sometimes in the daily login rewards. You need to level your riding skills for each character everyday, there are 3 possibilities to level: Speed, Stamina or Inventory but you can only level one of them each day! Each level up costs gold, maximum for each skill is 60, means you need 180 days to max out all 3 skills on one character, so don't forget to visit a stable once a day :)
You can level up faster if you buy more upgrades with crown gems in the crown store.
Beginners Tip: Max out riding Speed first, its most useful while exploring maps and for pvp events, then max out Stamina, helps a lot to not get knocked off the mount by enemies, or if you prefer then max Inventory for more bag space.

BAGSPACE & BANK
Every character starts with 60 slots bagspace, to upgrade it you have to buy more slots with gold, 10 slots increase for each upgrade in bag, 20 slots in bank, each further upgrade costs more than the one before, alternative upgrades with crowns can be bought as well.
Beginners Tip: If you run out of bankspace soon and have a lot character slots open, then create some lowlevel banker chars, and place them near a banker, each one gives 60 slots for free (upgrading to 90 slots costs only 10k gold each), this way you can store and easily access all your items!

ASSISTANTS
You can find all assistants like Merchant, Fence and Banker to access for free in every city
-
Merchant - you can repair your armor at every merchant and sell everything non stolen there. But remember: you can't repair armor at your own personal merchant.
-
Fence - you can sell stolen items to every Fence in Outlaw areas
-
Banker - you can access your private bank, Guildbank and Guildstores here, be careful to first choose the right bank or guild when you deposit something. Private Merchant, Fence and Banker can be bought with crowns and spawned everywhere (besides PVP areas), they can be accessed by all people in your group, BUT they only provide selling items to them and access to private bank, no repairs or guildstore access
Beginners Tip: install LUI addon and keybind your merchant, fence and banker, saves a lot of time

SKYSHARDS
While you run all over the maps, make sure to collect as many skyshards as you can, 3 of them give you 1 extra skill point to use, to upgrade or morph skills. Some skyshards can be found in open areas, some in public dungeons or delves. It's recommended to use the skyshard Addon which gives you a symbol on the maps right at the location, this way they re easy to find, for details check out our -> ADDON GUIDE
LORE BOOKS
Collecting books levels your MAGES GUILD, make sure to activate the mage guild questline, you can do this in all bigger Cities with a Mages Guild located, go inside and pick up the quest from the NPC. It's recommended to use the Lorebooks Addon which gives you a symbol on the maps right at the location, this way they re easy to find, for details check out our -> ADDON GUIDE
LEVELING:
LEVEL 1-10
You can do the first 10 level with quests from your start point, it doesn't really matter which quests you do, just get used to the game and explore the maps
another way is if anyone takes you to XP FARMING places, then just make sure you have as many skills equipped as possible to level them and use a small booster (50%) if you have one.
LEVEL 10-50
Level 10 unlocks dungeons, so its recommended to do as much dungeon farm as you can now to level up fast, again use boosters and training gear and if there are events up, then use the additional event boost!
ALWAYS do THE FIRST RANDOM NORMAL DUNGEON QUEUE everyday, which will give you a huge boost, you might gain some level within one run this way!
Maybe you got a high level player who is doing dailies in group which makes runs a lot faster, always choose random que for higher xp. If you prefer to level with quests, go ahead :) its slower leveling but you explore the beautiful world and learn your skills while you go. To unlock the daily crafting writs, read our crafting info's below for more details.
LEVEL 50 CP10-160
Once you reached max level with 50, you can keep doing dungeons, zombie farm, quests and everything else that gives you XP don't buy any crafted gear sets, you get enough drops while you level, just keep exchanging your gear for the highest available one drops that you don't need can be sold or used for CRAFTING, deconstruction or research.
LEVEL 50 CP160
now its time to get some crafted or farmed gear with set bonus, usually you should go for 2 sets with 5 pieces plus a monster set (helmet + shoulders), check out our recommended basic BUILDS for all classes here or the linked websites in our discord for the latest up to date builds, learn your rotations and keep leveling to around CP300 to get ready for veteran dungeons and trials

SKILL-LINES
you wont have many skills unlocked at beginning, but the first one of each CLASS tree are available, put them all 3 in your skill bar, and you level all 3 trees same time
skills of a specific tree level up as long as one skill of the tree is in your skill bar active, so while you level always check your skill trees and upgrade skills while progressing , you can add a lot more skills while you level
Armor Skill-Lines level up with at least 3 same parts equipped of light, medium or heavy, 5 pieces give you a set bonus, its recommended to wear 5-1-1 to get the highest armor rating for all 3 armor skill-lines
Weapon Skill-Lines start to level up soon as you equip the new weapon and hit/kill an enemy with it, check our BUILDS for recommended weapons for your class, to make sure to level the right ones
World Skill-Lines and GUILD SKILL-LINES level while equipped too, most of them have to be actived first though with a starter quest from a NPC
Skillpoints and morphs can be reset at special shrines (Stendarr) in the main cities for gold

ATTRIBUTE POINTS
every character can have up to 64 attribute points to spend for magicka, health or stamina, based on build and play style you decide how to setup your attribute points,
higher gear, set bonus, enchantments and food/drinks/potions influence your attributes too
attribute points can be reset at special shrines (Auriel) in the main cities for gold
check out our basic BUILDS and GUILD SKILL-LINES for details and recommendations

MUNDUS STONE
the Mundus Stone gives you a permanent buff, every map offers several Mundus Stones, you can choose which one suits your play style or check out our BUILDS which one is recommended for your class, then simply go to the one that you chose and activate it
if you press C, you can see the active Mundus Stones for your character on the bottom right
CRAFTING
ESO is the perfect place for all CRAFTING fans, if you like to create stuff for yourself or to sell and like to farm materials all over the maps
you can craft armor, weapons, jewelry and even all kinds of furniture to use for your own homestead or to sell profitably
it is NOT required to craft to play this game though, you can just research a few needed traits for transmute and buy whatever else you need too
check out our CRAFTING BASICS to get started

There is definitely a lot more to know but this will get you started for the first days
